19 February 2024 Returning the Motorhome, South Island NZ

The wind blew all night with big gusts that rocked the motorhome making it hard to sleep. In the morning, we got on the road before 9am. The Winds was blowing very hard and blowing us all over the road. It was a rough and rolling drive into Christchurch for most of the ride. We arrived at Wilderness Motorhomes at 2PM. We turned over the keys of our trusted home for the last 20 days. Our temporary repairs have stood the test of time and mother nature. They inspected the RV and found we had missed removing a bag of green beans in the freezer. They had all the information they needed for the insurance claim, so we were good to go. We had driven 2,349 miles in the 20 days we had the motorhome. We got a cab into town, to the Crown Plaza, and got checked in. After getting into our room, we pushed the luggage off to one side and just sat down and sighed. It had been a very busy three weeks. Later, we walked a few blocks away to the Basmatis Indian food for dinner. It was very spicey and delicious. Then back to the hotel for the best showers we have had in a long time! And we did not have to worry about catching foot fungus!
