9 March 2024 The Rocks

Only two blocks from our hotel is The Rocks District. This is the site of the original convict settlement in 1788. They have a street festival on the weekends. So, we spent the afternoon wandering in and out of booths and stores. We ate lunch at the oldest pub in Sydney. Later we wandered over toward the Opera House to have dinner at a wonderful Chinese food restaurant, The East, on the quay we had found a couple of days ago. There we watched the parade of people headed to the Opera House for the Saturday Night events. We then made our way over to the Opera House after dark to get dome pictures of the Opera House all lit up. As the day wore on, David noticed he was having a lot of sinus drainage, but we chalked it up to allergies.
