We had last driven the Turquoise Trail before COVID. So, we wanted to visit it again. It looked like several of the stops along the scenic trail are no longer open post COVID. We stopped in New Madrid and had lunch at the Mine Shaft Tavern before wandering into some of the shops along the street. Leslie found some nice Christmas gifts and a ring she could not live without. We continued up to Santa Fe but did not make any more stops since everything looked pretty rundown or closed. In Santa Fe we went into the old town and wandered through some of the shops before landing at the Gruet Tasting Room for a nice glass of wine on the patio.
