11 July 2022 Lake Placid

With Etta feeling better, we decided to head to Lake Placid. We considered going to Saratoga NHP, but after reviewing on line, we realized that there really is not much to see of the Revolutionary War Battle Field. So we headed up to Lake Placid to see the site of the Olympics. It took about 90 minutes to drive to the town and we could see the Olympic ski jumps as we drove into town. The town is actually on Mirror Lake. It reminded us of several ski towns like Telluride and Breckenridge. We had lunch at Luna’s and walked the main street and explored some of the shops. On the way back, we stayed off the freeway and on the back roads through many small towns. It was a nice relaxing day after the last several days of being worried about Etta. After checking on Etta, we headed down to Lake Glen and had dinner at Docksider on the shores of Lake Glen. The view over the lake was beautiful even with the food being mediocre.
