10-13 November 2019 Antelope Valley

Since the work David was supposed to be doing here, our original reason for stopping here, was canceled that left us plenty of time to catch up with our friends in the area. Sunday morning, David took Leslie to one of his favorite breakfast restaurants in the area, Crazy Otto’s. David has been going to Crazy Otto’s since his days of supporting flight tests in the 1980s. Leslie has decided it’s a pretty good place to eat as well. Sunday night we met up with Pam and Bill Elliott and went to a charity Thanksgiving Dinner before settling in at their home in Leona Valley for some wine and to catch up on our lives since the last time we got together in Santa Fe. Monday morning we were back out at their home to be joined by our friends Terry and Scott Millet, who drove down from Ridge Crest for the day/night. We had a wonderful lunch at the nearby Mexican Food Restaurant. Then it was back to Bill and Pam’s where we began an extensive wine tasting, which polished off nine bottles of very good wine by 6 sippers in 10 hours. Part way through our tasting, we drove down to the community center to see Bill get sworn into the town council as an alternate and to listen to the town council business. Then back to Bill and Pam’s to polish off a few more bottles of wine. In the morning, we met up at Crazy Otto’s for breakfast followed by a tour of the Wanderer before Scott and Terry headed back to Ridge Crest. On Wednesday, after David worked most of the day, we met up with Bill and Pam for a farewell dinner.
