After David worked all day, we headed into Medora to have dinner before going to the Medora outdoor musical. We ate dinner at the Little Missouri Saloon. Dinner was ok, but nothing special. As we waited for our food, we could see clouds building to the west and radar was showing rain to the north. But it seemed to be staying north of town, so we drove out to the outdoor amphitheater north and west of town. There seemed to be a pretty good crowd waiting for the gates to open. When we picked up our tickets at the will call, they told us they were delaying opening the gates to let some weather clear out. Just as they opened the gates, we started getting hit occasionally with big rain drops. As we took our seats, the rain seemed to clear out. But a short time later, the rain started up again. Luckily, we had brought our umbrellas. But the light rain turned into a deluge and they announced the show was canceled for the evening. The rained tapered off as everyone filed out of the amphitheater but the stage was soaking wet and it would not have been safe for the performers. When we got back to the Wanderer, we got on line and immediately applied for tickets the next day since the weather forecast for later in the week showed rain all day for several days.
