We decided to go to the gun show and then the Dug Up Gun Museum today. We figured out after we entered the gun show that the Winchester Gun Shows are really for old Winchester and some other types of gun collectors. The prices on the old guns were surprisingly high for a gun you were not likely to shoot. We saw one old six shooter being sold for $30,000! The Dug Up Gun Museum was very interesting. They had guns that dated back to the revolutionary war, civil war, WWI and WW2 that had been dug out of the ground. No photos in the museum were allowed. Some had been in the ground so long the wood stocks had petrified! We had never really thought of people digging up guns on old battlefields. For some reason we thought those would have been all picked up after the battle. Some of the guns still had ammunition rusted into them. They also had some old hand grenades, cannon balls, swords and bayonets. They had one gun that had been encased by a tree. An interesting exhibit. There was a little chihuahua that met us at the door when we came in and followed us around the museum. He was a cutie.
