After seeing all the vineyards on the drive up, we decided to try tasting some of the wine in the area. We visited the Bella Rose Vineyard and Arrowhead Springs Vineyard (where we met Daryl Johnston’s sister, who had never visited him in Dallas!) north of Niagara Falls. We were very surprised to find they had some excellent dry red wines. They are a bit different than what we are used too from Texas and the west coast since they experience colder winter here. But we were very happy with what we found and bought several bottles from both vineyards. The scenery was every bit as pretty as Napa Valley with rolling fields of grapes. The weather was pleasant and it was a chance for us to unwind and relax.
