12 June 2019 Wilson Wyoming to West Yellow Stone Montana

We had a very pleasant drive from Wilson, through Grand Teton NP, and Yellowstone NP. The scenery was incredible!  While waiting on a construction blockage a large male moose with the beginnings of a beautiful rack of horns followed us along the fence line as we crepted along the highway. The roads were in good shape and the climbs were not too bad, so the truck temperatures were comfortable. The line to enter Yellowstone NP was at least 1.5 miles long but moved along pretty well.  As we drove along we saw so many of the Park’s buffalo.  One was even lounging on the side of the road and had traffic all kinds of jammed up. We are staying at Yellowstone Park Mountain Side KOA ($92 with KOA Value Card) which is west of West Yellowstone. Our site (#1) is plenty long but is dirt and grass (hope it does not rain!) and not very level. But the utilities are good, WiFi strong, and there is lots of room. We also have a beautiful view. Montana is our 17thstate. We will explore Yellowstone over the next week.
